Today one of my strengths has been making my assets and making them the right size.

One of the weaknesses I have had today is making my game this is because I have not used Game Maker in years. For me to improve my ability I will need to use and read about Game Maker, the smart target that I had set myself I have achieved.

Today has been going well I have done most of the work that I have needed to do and have enjoyed myself doing designing and thinking about what kind of game that I want.

I have gotten a lot of inspiration from this game and watching a YouTuber called BaronVonLetsPlay https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3qSqrIqiwgAY4LE1YHRv0Q and his ideas about the game, I have thought of how I could make a game similar and the art style that I would use to achieve a good atmosphere.

Today I have learnt about the different registers that are used when doing the fetch, decode and execute cycle. I have also learnt that it is important to make the 8 bit art the right size if not everything will have to be done again. My strengths today have been being able to think of the 8 bit things that I wanted to create and also knowing somethings about the CPU already. One of the weaknesses I have had to day is making my art the right size the first time.

Today I have learnt spoken communication isn't the main we communicate and most of how we communicate is by body language and facial expression. One of the strengths that I have had today would be is communicating with the people around me in a good way that we have all been able to contribute and help each other. One of my weaknesses today would be that I did not stay completely focused on the work but I have still managed to complete most things. Today I have helped others to complete their work and they have helped me to do our works.

Today

Aim: Create an A3 print poster to promote gaming, demonstrating editing skills and with supporting evidence.

Objectives:

• Recall and order the 9 important areas of good design
• Work well together and discuss why certain aspects could be considered more important than others
• Re-cap A2 P3
• Create an A3 poster to promote gaming and supporting evidence

Aim: To investigate the qualities of different computer games and write a brief.

Objectives:

• Introduce A2 P4
• Deconstruct different aspects of four games
• Explain your opinion about different features
• Consider different game narratives
• Begin writing a brief
• Consider possible concepts for your creative work

Today I have learnt my strengths were working well together to come up with ideas (not so much on the mood boards). One of the weaknesses that I have had today is presenting why mood boards are good and not repeating what my peer had already said due to lack of listening will have to improve on that in the future. I have been able to recap on the 9 important areas of good design but can't remember them exactly still.

This is my inspirational image as it relates back to my design as there is just the word "gaming" surrounded by darkness in the light.

Strengths 

One of the strengths I have had today is the ability to name the different components of the computer and why they are important for the computer to run.

Weaknesses

One of the weaknesses I have had today is not explaining my work in enough detail.

Today I have strengthened my understanding of different computer components what they are used for, I feel like I could have done more work if I focused more.

Strength

One of the strengths I have had today is researching the relevant information and being able to pick out the most important facts from the websites.

Weakness

One of the weaknesses I have had today is not being able to think of a weakness I have had.

Today has been a good day for learning about colours, what different colours are used for and how to use colours to get a message across, I have learnt that colour theory is important.

Hue

I have learnt how to use the colour saturation and hue tool on Photoshop as well as other tools.

The weakness I have had today is thinking of ideas to do for my images.

My strengths today has been the ability to learn about the tools Photoshop quickly and well.

Today has been a good day for learn new skills in Photoshop thanks to some help form Kyle, with these new tools I feel more confident with using Photoshop.

I have learnt the names of the components of the computers.

The strength I have had today is being able to take a part the computer.

My weakness is putting the computer back together.

I have learnt how to keep myself safe while doing maintenance on the computer and also how to make sure I do not damage the computer, it has been a good experience and I feel more confident with handling computers.

Today I have learnt the importance of having goals to complete and a time to complete it.

One of the strengths I have had today is coming up with my goals.

One of my weaknesses today has been not being able to think of a weakness for this blog.

I think today has helped me realize what I need to do to meet my goals, I now have plan of what I want to do which will help me do the work that I need to do to make my dreams become true.

CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key and a SVG file would be good for billboard because it can be scaled up or down with quality loss


It inspires me to not stop trying even if I am struggling because as long as I don't stop I will make it in the end.

I have learnt today some file formats, like PNG is for websites and JPEG is for billboards.

The weaknesses I have had today is using Adobe Illustrator.

Personal reflection

I want to secure my understanding of file formats and which ones are used when also how to use Adobe Illustrator as I do not know how to use it.

My First Blog

I have learnt how to use Google docs, I had tried to use them before but I couldn't but now I now I know how to. I also can remember Kyle's and Ruaridh's names as I have spoken to them the most today and also Lee's name although I haven't spoken to him.

My strength I have had today is to be able to talk to people without trouble, I didn't know anyone who came today but now I feel like I can make better friends with the people I have spoken to.

My weakness today has been not thinking of any weaknesses, I can't think of anything that was to hard.

I feel like today has gone really well from the journey here as I didn't get lost to the writing of this blog, I am really glad that I made the choice to come to develop because I think that I will be able to do really well and make some new friends. The leaning environment of develop is a lot better that anywhere I have been previously.

This quote suits me as I have come from doing AS's and I did not try as hard as I should have so now I will learn from that mistake and become a better learner to hopefully succeed.
